DISEASES & INDIA

Image
WATER BORNE DISEASES:  Cholera. Dysentry. Typhoid. These sound like diseases from another time and place. But they’re still major killers in our country. The Ice Bucket Challenge - with its mostly pristine five-star ice - is in particularly poor taste here. Over one lakh people in India die of dirty water diseases each year. In one-third of India’s 600 districts, ground water is unfit for drinking as the concentration of fluoride, iron, salinity and arsenic exceeds tolerance levels.  The disease is no doubt serious, debilitating and worthy of more research, but there are at least five other illnesses that affect far more people and are far more preventable. HEART DISEASE -  The urban curses of stress, smoking, sedentariness and a rich diet have made this the biggest Indian killer. Studies indicate that in a majority of cases preventable factors play a heavy role in the development and progression of heart disease. MALARIA -  That mosquitoes remain silent killers in India

Day 14 – The First Real Optimization Takes Place The goal from this point on is to build your Quality Score while still building a profitable campaign. Be Wary of Keywords and Ads with Not Enough Clicks/Impressions If you’re seeing keywords with low CTR (0.5% to 1%), and they’re in the top 5 ad positions, then I would consider pausing them. Again, our goal at this point in time isn’t to maximize our campaign potential completely, but instead to build our Quality Score, as well as profits. As our profits most likely aren’t going to be compiled of low CTR keywords, then it shouldn’t cost you many conversions to pause those low CTR-based keywords. However, and as with anything else, we’re pausing them at a  very early stage but  you should be  labeling them  for later use as well regardless. Optimize Ads for Your Goal After 14 days, it’s time to start paying more attention to your ads. This is the most important part of your campaign at this point in time.

Day 8: Quick Campaign Optimizations This is the first day that you can really start optimizing. Unless something is completely wrong, then 7 days is the accepted date range most PPC managers work with when optimizing AdWords campaigns. If you didn’t receive many clicks the first 3 days due to low bidding, then just wait 7 days from the date your campaign started getting the desired amount of clicks. Check Ad Position Start out by checking your ad positions. Are they high, are they low, or are they where you want them to be? Your ad position should go very much hand in hand with both your budget and desired campaign outcome. If you’re starting out slow and want to gradually expand your campaign, then position 1 is not the best place to be. If you have a big budget, plenty of time and want to experience the biggest bang for your buck, then  the top 3 ad positions are the best places to be . If you’re not yet reaching your budget, then keywords below an ad pos

Checklist of Your AdWords Optimization

n this three-part series I will outline the routine we use for most of the AdWords accounts we manage in White Shark Media. The first part focuses on the first 24 hours, the 2 nd  part focuses on the first optimization after 8 days and the 3rd post focuses on Day 14 and beyond. With no further ado: When you initially activate a new AdWords campaign, there are plenty of things to take into account and you don’t always know  what to expect . You’re perhaps eager to get started with the optimization portion (I know I always am), but you should be careful when you optimize your AdWords account in the very first month. The conditions in the first month are certainly different compared to those of the second. While the key objective in  AdWords is profits , the first month differs a little bit. Especially if you’re working with a new account or domain, then the immediate goal should be to  optimize for Quality Score . Don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying to ignore prof
